Drone Exterior Cleaning in Apex, NC

Apex is one of the fastest-growing towns in the Triangle, and that growth shows in new multi-story apartment communities and office and mixed-use buildings along US-64, NC-55, and out toward NC-540. All of it needs exterior cleaning that keeps up without the cost and disruption of a boom lift.

Built for Apex's mix of properties

Newer buildings in Apex mix siding, EIFS, brick, and concrete, and each surface needs a method matched to it. For multi-story apartment communities, a drone can keep disruption to residents and parking to a minimum. And for office and mixed-use buildings along the US-64 and NC-55 corridors, the drone's small footprint means any parking closure is brief, not the days a lift can take.

Why Apex buildings get dirty

Even Apex's newest buildings aren't immune. The Triangle's humid summers and heavy spring pollen start showing on roofs and facades within a few years.

New roofs

Streaks on young shingles

Gloeocapsa magma, the cyanobacteria behind black roof streaks, does not wait for a roof to age. In the Triangle's humidity it can show up on the north-facing slopes of a newer apartment or office building's shingle roof within a few years, feeding on the limestone filler in the shingles. Soft washing kills it without stripping the granules a newer roof still needs.

Construction

Red clay and build-out dust

With so much still under construction, Piedmont red clay and construction dust settle on siding, sidewalks, and parking lots and stain the lower few feet of buildings. Irrigation overspray can also leave mineral and rust-colored stains. Concrete calls for a power wash; siding and painted surfaces call for a soft wash.

Spring

Pollen season

From late March through April, pine pollen coats roofs, ledges, breezeways, and rooftop solar panels across town. In the humidity it turns into a film that dulls solar output and feeds mildew into the summer.

Summer

Humidity, algae, and mildew

Surfaces that stay damp through a humid Apex summer, like north-facing walls, shaded EIFS, and concrete that rarely sees sun, grow green algae and mildew.

Apex questions

Do you work with HOAs and apartment communities in Apex?

Yes. Associations and property managers can set up a single recurring plan covering clubhouses, amenity buildings, apartment buildings, and other common structures, with consolidated scheduling and billing. We will schedule around residents, and individual homeowners can book roof, solar, and skylight cleaning on their own.

Our HOA wants the black streaks off our roofs. Can you help?

Yes. The black streaks are Gloeocapsa magma, a cyanobacteria common on asphalt shingles in the Triangle's humidity. A soft wash applied by drone kills the growth without anyone walking on the roof or pressure washing away the shingle granules. Individual homeowners can book roof cleaning directly, and associations can set up a community-wide plan covering clubhouses, amenity buildings, and other common structures.

Can you clean our Apex office building with minimal disruption to employees?

Yes. There is no boom lift parked by the entrance for days and no scaffolding over the walkways. The drone works from a small, mobile footprint, so we may keep an area clear for a short time while cleaning overhead, then move on. We will plan the work around your entrances, parking, and business hours, and we can provide a certificate of insurance for your facilities or procurement team.

How tall a building can you clean in Apex?

Our drone reaches up to 150 feet. On taller buildings, we can clean the lower stories, podium levels, entry canopies, signage, and attached parking decks. If your building is taller than we can serve, we will tell you during the assessment.
